The floor, counted

Gold Eagle Casino has more than 300 slot machines on its floor. A slot denomination is the value of one credit on a machine. Here there are 5 of them: 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 25 cents and $1. SIGA's profile gives the casino 40,000 square feet, and a 5,000 square foot expansion was completed in 2015.

SIGA's casino profile gives 6 table games. The live ones are Blackjack and Phil 'Em Up Poker. Phil 'Em Up is a poker game dealt at a table; there is no separate poker room. The electronic table games go by the name the Circuit, and on an electronic table each player plays on a screen. The casino does not publish how many there are.

Who runs it

Gold Eagle Casino opened in 1996 and was the first casino to open under SIGA, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority. SIGA was created on June 10, 1995, under the First Nations Gaming Act. It is a First Nations, non-profit organization that runs 7 casinos in Saskatchewan in partnership with Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS).

The land under the casino belongs to Mosquito Grizzly Bear's Head Lean Man First Nation. In December 2025 a ministerial order renamed the site from Gold Eagle Reserve to the MGBHLM First Nation Urban Reserve. Net profits from SIGA's 7 casinos are split three ways. The First Nations Trust receives 50%, Community Development Corporations 25% and the Government of Saskatchewan's General Revenue Fund 25%.

Online play in Saskatchewan

PlayNow.com, operated by SIGA, is the only legal online gambling site in Saskatchewan. It is for players 19 and older. SIGA's online exclusivity runs to September 2029.

The Ad links on this guide's home page lead somewhere else: one private online casino partner, not PlayNow.com. That partner pays the guide a commission and can change. Self-exclusion is a ban a person asks for on their own gambling. Through SIGA or Game Break it covers Saskatchewan casinos and PlayNow.com, but it does not block a private online casino site.
